The Sportsman's Club Testicle Festival is back for another year, featuring bands, cold beer, fried testicles, and other food items. Capitol Ave. between Main and North in Downtown Mount Sterling, will be corded off to hold the expected crowds.

The festivities begin Saturday, June 14 at 2 p.m. with the opening of the gates and live broadcast on 97.9 KICK-FM. The fried testicles will be served at 3, at about the same time The KingBees take the stage. They will play until about 7 p.m., when the Testicle Festival "King & Queen" contest will commence.

At 8, Madd Hoss Jackson will take the stage, fresh from their recent appearance in Nashville at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville. They are expected to play until the end of the festival at Midnight.

I tried some testicles at last years festival. They weren't bad. Almost a "tenderloin" taste and consistency to them. I sampled them with the ranch dipping sauce. Maybe this year I will try them with Thousand Island.

Admission is $5 per person 21 and older. No one under 21 will be admitted. To make sure you get home safe, West Central Mass Transit will be offering rides to residents in Brown County (follow the link for fees and details).

The past couple of years the Testicle Festival had been plagued by thunderstorms. The forecasts I have seen the past few days show no signs of rain for this year's festivities. I hope to see you there!
