Most Popular Google Searches in the Tri-States
Happy 19th birthday, Google! Google.com went live on this day in 1997, and to celebrate, let's see what the most popular google searches for the past month in the Quincy/Hannibal/Keokuk area are, as we are all grouped together on Google Trends.
How about an easy, familiar one to start? Music & Audio!
Turns out we've been looking up Metallica and Moby the past month, but not as much as we've been interested in what Western Illinois University has to offer.
What have we been searching in sports? Well, the big news maker is Colin Kaepernick, so it's no surprise he's at number one, followed by NFL scores (also not a surprise), and both QU and Culver-Stockton.
To me, what's most inspiring is the amount of education and learning resources we search for! The top five for "All Categories" were all educational resources, two of them being WIU. Just outside of the top five at number six is Gene Wilder, which is also kinda cool.
