The Super Bowl is coming up on February 2. Quite honestly, I don't care about either team playing this year (no offense, Denver or Seattle fans). Even so, I'll probably still watch the game, if for no other reason than to have an excuse to fix a bunch of really unhealthy snacks.

The National Chicken Council (didn't even know there was a National Chicken Council, did you?) estimates that Americans will eat 1.25 billion chicken wings while watching the Super Bowl. That's an increase of about 20 million wings over last year. Interestingly, Seattle and San Francisco are among NFL cities that eat the fewest chicken wings, or the increase could be even higher. The National Chicken Council says that Seattle fans are 44% less likely to eat chicken wings than the average football fan, and San Francisco fans are 48% less likely.

Domino's Pizza anticipates delivering 11 million slices of pizza, and three million wings on game day, an 80% increase over the typical Sunday. Domino's says that pizza orders actually go up when the game is really close and viewers are glued to their TVs. They also expect higher sales in the city that actually wins the game.

Wings and pizza are the first two foods I think of when I think "Super Bowl," but nachos and cheese, burgers, brats, chips... just about any kind of junk food could end up on the menu at a Super Bowl party.

When you're watching football, what do you prefer to snack on?
