The heavy rains in northeast Missouri result in numerous road closures around the area.

The Missouri Department of Transportation reported Friday night the closing of Missouri Highway 79 at the south end of Louisiana due to flooding on the Mississippi. 79 had previously been closed at Clarksville and Annada.

The good news is that U.S. 61 at the Cuivre River north of Troy was reopened to traffic Friday evening. Also, sections of U.S. 54 near Mexico and Missouri 19 were reopened to traffic Friday.
