The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of an asphalt scam.

Sheriff Jimmy Shinn says his office has received two different reports of door-to-door sales people going to homes wanting to asphalt and seal their driveways. It’s reported the salesperson became very pushy and aggressive.

Sheriff Shinn warns residents to never agree to any job until checking for references, and to not let anyone into their home they don’t know.

If such an individual becomes aggressive, residents are advised to ask the person to leave and to call the police immediately.
