The Madonna House’s Food Pantry is in desperate need of restocking as their food inventory is dwindling and they are in desperate need of non-perishable food products. Those products include pasta, rice, tuna peanut butter, jelly, vegetables, fruit, canned stews and marinara sauce.

With rising food prices, coupled with the changes in the food stamp program and resources being used for back to school items, more and more families are seeking food assistance, many for the first time.

Joanne Dedert, the Executive Director of the Madonna House, is reporting that the food pantry served 618 people in June, 788 people in July and 680 people in August.  That is approximately 20 to 25 people a day who are in need of food.

So if you can donate some extra food to the Madonna House please do. For more information dial 224-7771 or go to www.madonnahouse.net.
