The annual Long Term Care Golden Games will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the Quincy Senior and Family Resource Center located at 639 York Street, Quincy, Illinois from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm with registration beginning at 9:30 am.  The event is free to residents of area long term care facilities and assisted living facilities.

This year’s event will feature over 10 games for residents to play and earn tickets which they may shop with for anything from their favorite can of soda to a gift for a loved one.  One of the many favorite games will no doubt be the “Wet Tee Shirt Contest”.

A name tag contest will be held again this year as well.  Facilities are asked to create name tags for each resident around a theme of “Thankfulness” The name tags will be judged and prizes will be awarded to the winning facility’s activity department.

Participants will enjoy popcorn and bottled water during the morning while enjoying the antics of local clowns Maxie and Minnie.

Lunch will be served at 12:00 pm.  The menu includes fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and pumpkin pie with whipped cream.  Fuzzy Face Frank will entertain the crowd on the electric piano during lunch with old time favorites.

The Long Term Care Golden Games is a favorite of residents.  Many look forward to this annual event.  This year’s event promises to be a day of fun for all!
