The 7th annual Load the Lobby campaign has come to a close. Thanks to you, we were able to fill up an entire van, and an entire SUV with toys to benefit The Salvation Army's Toy Town, which will provide Christmas toys for over a thousand area children!

"Toy Town is part of our Christmas assistance distribution program," said Kent Embree, Marketing Manager for The Salvation Army and Kroc Center. "Families in need apply in November, and then make appointments with us to pick up Christmas food baskets and 'shop' for toys during our distribution days in December before Christmas."

Embree says that typically The Salvation Army collects about 6,000 to 8,000 toys, locally, at Christmastime. Toy Town provided toys to 1,749 children in 2013, from infants through the age of 16.

Load the Lobby is Townsquare Media's annual effort to help Toy Town by collecting toys in the lobby of the company's Quincy radio stations from mid-November to mid-December. 2015 was the seventh year of the Load the Lobby toy drive at the studios of Y101, KICK-FM and KICK-AM.
