No disrespect to Fred Rogers, as his neighborhood was definitely a staple of my childhood, but for me, The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross was where it was at. Bob Ross was legit. Bob Ross was pure. Bob Ross was zen. I never picked up a brush and palette to paint along, but it was mesmerizing watching Bob Ross paint. I watched it as a kid. I watched it in high school. It was even a must watch on hungover Sunday mornings during college.

But now's my chance to learn the art of art, the joy of lush landscapes, majestic mountains, and of course, the happy little trees. The Kroc Center in Quincy is offering two separate courses so you can learn how to paint like Bob Ross. The first class is June 21st, and you must register by June 16th. The second class is July 19th, with registration closing on July 14th. Both classes run 6pm-8pm. There is a fee for the class, ranging from $21 for Gold level members to $35 for non-members, but supplies are included with the class. For more info, head to the Kroc's website, or follow them on Facebook for updates.
