Spots still are available for the 12th annual Alzheimer’s Pro-Am golf tournament, to be held Monday, July 15th, two weeks from today. Hurry, though, because this popular event is filling up. Registration for the 18-hole golf tournament at Spring Lake Country Club in Quincy begins at 10 a.m. the day of the tournament, followed by an 11 a.m. shotgun start. Lunch will be provided.

After play, the top five pros will compete in a shootout for additional prize money. The entry fee is $800 per four-person team. The cost includes golf cart, lunch, beer and soda on the course and prizes for everyone.

There also will be a raffle after the tournament for a 2013 Yamaha Vino Classic Scooter, donated by Sullivan Auctioneers. Tickets are on sale now and are $10 each. You do not need to be present to win. You can register for the tournament or purchase raffle tickets by Friday, July 12 by calling Jamie Foster in the Alzheimer’s Association Quincy Area Office at 800.272.3900 or 217.228.1111. The event is limited to the first 24 teams that sign up.

All proceeds benefit the Alzheimer’s Association’s Quincy Area Office, which provides programs and resources to individuals and families throughout the area struggling with Alzheimer’s disease. Sponsors for this one-of-a-kind event include KHQA-TV, Mississippi Belle-Miller Lite, The Business Centre and Sullivan Auctioneers.
