KICK it or Keep It RESULTS: Morgan Evans vs Brandon Lay

The results are in, and Morgan Evans' upbeat love song was enough to win our first KICK It or Keep It of 2018.

Brandon Lay has the dubious honor of being the first song kicked out of the playlist of the year, but I have a feeling we'll hear from him again soon, as he heads out on tour with Kenny Chesney, Thomas Rhett and Old Dominion, his profile will rise in 2018 and may even climb the charts. Both Evans and Lay are currently in the top 50 on the charts with their songs. Should Lay cross into the top 40, we could hear him again. Should Evans cross into the Top 40 while on his KICK It or Keep It run, it'll be an automatic win, with the competitor carrying over to the next week.

And let's not forget that even though Lay's gone this week, he could come back in a Second Chance slot later this year.
