Juvenile Faces Charges in Hancock County Shooting Death

A juvenile faces multiple charges in connection with the shooting death of a rural Hancock County woman Thursday.

Hancock County Sheriff Scott Bentzinger reports deputies were called to the rural Nauvoo home of 67-year-old Nanci Culp Thursday morning.

Deputies found Culp had been killed by a single bullet to the head.

An investigation revealed Culp’s home had been struck several times by bullets, one of which killed Culp.

The juvenile was taken into custody and appeared in court Friday morning. The boy was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm and involuntary manslaughter.
