The wait is almost over for new Josh Turner music — his fifth studio album, ‘Punching Bag,’ is set to hit stores nationwide on Tuesday, June 12.

Turner co-wrote eight of the 11 tracks found on the new collection of tunes, many of which were penned in his newly-built “songwriter’s den,” a cabin located on the property behind his home. The studio was inspired by his home state of South Carolina and contains some of his most prized possessions.

“I spent two years building my writer’s cottage,” notes Turner. “Once it was finished, I was immediately in there writing songs. In total, I’ve written 27 songs in there and eight of those ended up on the record. My hero and friend, John Anderson, was sitting across the table from me one day when we were writing and said, ‘What will really be a great day is when the songs you write here end up paying for this place!’”

Turner’s new album comes at a high point in his career, following four No. 1 hits (‘All Over Me,’ ‘Your Man,’ ‘Would You Go With Me’ and ‘Why Don’t We Just Dance’) and the sale over five million albums worldwide. His latest single — and the first release from his forthcoming album — is the Top 20 hit ‘Time Is Love.’

To gear up for the album’s release, Turner will be hitting the road on his new Cracker Barrel Old Country Store-sponsored tour. Click here for a full list of the dates where Turner will be performing.
