Local gentlemen observing No-Shave November or other local initiatives such as the Hannibal Regional Healthcare System’s iStache Challenge for Men’s Health Month, should consider keeping that facial hair just a little bit longer to raise money for prostate cancer awareness. The Hannibal Arts Council and the Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation are teaming together with Golden Eagle Distributing, Kerley’s Pub, and Clippers N Cues to present Mustache and Beard contests during an inaugural Holiday event, Jingle Ball: Fest-Of-Ales.

The event will be held on Saturday, December 14 at Kerley’s Pub, 214 N. Main Street in Downtown Hannibal. Proceeds from the event benefit the Hannibal Arts Council and the James Cary Cancer Center Men’s Health Fund. In addition to giving back and the notoriety of being awarded Best Mustache or Best Beard, big prizes will be awarded to the top three winners. Men are not the only ones who can participate either. Females are welcome to get into the spirit and participate in costume. There will also be an Ugliest Sweater contest, so feel free to dress appropriately.

Jingle Ball begins at 6:00 p.m. with live jazz performance by The Music Company (featuring Bill Morriston) who will be playing in the window front of Kerley’s Pub as part of the Living Windows which is occurring throughout downtown on the same evening. Local musician Mike Moore will also be performing, in addition to Columbia band Mercer and Johnson and St. Louis band The Stone Sugar Shakedown.

Tickets for the event will be $20 at the door, or are available in advance at the Hannibal Arts Council or Kerley’s Pub for $15. The ticket price includes entrance to the music venue/stage, one free raffle ticket and one complimentary drink ticket good for one pint of craft brew. Holiday craft beer selections from Golden Eagle Distributing include Goose Island Ten Hills, Southern Tier 2Xmas Ale, Abita Christmas Ale, or Tallsgrass Velvet Rooster Belgian Tripel.

For more detailed information regarding the Jingle Ball see the event page on the Hannibal Arts Council Facebook page or contact the Hannibal Arts Council at (573) 221-6545.
