The Blue Note in Columbia has been bringing some very good country acts to central Misssouri. The Eli Young Band played there in April. Lee Ann Womack, David Nail, and last year's CMT on Tour lineup have also made appearances at The Blue Note. There are a couple of good country acts on their schedule in the coming months that are worth noting. Jana Kramer will perform in August, and Chase Rice will play Summerfest on 9th Street in early September. 

Jana Kramer's Columbia concert is Thursday, August 27 at The Blue Note. Tickets in advance are $17.50. They will be $20 the day of the show. The concert is at 8:30, doors open at 7:30. Tickets are available online.

Jana Kramer is a singer, songwriter, and actress. She plays the character Alex Dupre on One Tree Hill, and has also appeared in series like CSI: Crime Scene InvestigationGrey's Anatomy and Friday Night Lights. Her self-titled debut album was released in 2012. It featured the Top 5 hit "Why You Wanna." She won the Top New Female Artist award at the 2013 ACM Awards.

Chase Rice will perform at Summerfest on 9th Street on Thursday, September 10. Tickets in advance are $25, they are $30 the day of the show. Showtime is 7 p.m. Doors open at 6. Chase Rice tickets are also available online. 

Chase Rice is also a singer/songwriter, and a TV star. Rice was a popular contestant on Survivor: Nicaragua in 2010. He was also one of the writers on Florida Georgia Line's huge country hit, "Cruise." Rice's major label debut, Ignite the Night, was released last August. One of the singles on that album, "Ready Set Roll," was a Top 5 hit.
