Is it just me or does it seem like the whole dang world revolves around Facebook? Other than the political rants, I enjoy Facebook. It's a convenient way to stay in touch with friends and family that I wouldn't normally see or talk to since I'm a loner. But, I can't say that I'm fond of the way that it now seems that the business community has gone hook, line and sinker to selling their soul for Facebook likes.

Quick disclaimer here:  We (KICK-FM) do this, too.  I'm not casting stones.  Businesses have no choice but to solicit likes on Facebook to stay competitive and get their message out.  But, it doesn't mean I have to like it and I don't.

For me, radio has always been about doing the absolute best I can do to make sure the radio station serves you (the listener).  The fact that my job now requires me to try and get "likes" out of you on Facebook is very unnatural.  We're here for you not the other way around.  Yes, it helps our station when you "like" and "share" our stuff on Facebook.

This is just me talking and not the radio station or the company that pays me.  But, I don't frankly care if you "like" or "share" anything of ours.  If we are making your day just a tiny bit better than it would have been otherwise, I am a happy man.  That's why I started doing this and if it ever stops being the reason I'm doing this...then I won't do this anymore.  Confused?  Me too.

Bottom line is I appreciate each and every one of you.  Listeners have shown me kindness over the years that no man could be worthy of.  You don't owe us a dang thing...likes, shares, whatever.  We, on the other hand, owe you everything.
