Hot Dogs Were In Short Supply
KICK-FM was at Ashley Furniture Homestore in Quincy July 4 for a live broadcast.
At Noon, Ashley and The Butcher Block in Quincy held a hot dog eating competition in the parking lot. For five minutes, it was a site to behold for hot dog lovers.
There were fifteen competitors in this year's second annual event; about five more than last year, all vying for a one thousand dollar Ashley shopping card.
Josh Palmer of Mendon was able to completely down eight and a quarter hot dogs within the allowed time. Sound easy? Think again. I saw several men and women in this competition that looked a little worse for wear, once this competition was completed.
Some people may question "Why?" I think it represents the U.S. perfectly. Excessive eating of a truly American-invented product on a day celebrating our independence. So, "Why not?"
Hope you're having a great holiday.
