I came across this sign at the baseball field behind New London Elementary School. What a great example of keeping things in perspective! We could probably all use reminders like this, from time to time.

Funny sign at baseball field in New London, Missouri

There are several businesses that are good about putting out little nuggets of wisdom on their marquees or flashing arrows. Personal Finance Company on 36th Street in Quincy comes to mind. On my way to work the other day, the PFC sign read, "You can observe a lot by watching." Sometimes the points are obvious, sometimes they are hysterical, sometimes they are even profound.

While rare, you can also occasionally find businesses that put out messages that express their feelings on certain political matters or world events. I suppose they are either right or they are wrong depending on your own point of view. My dad was a business owner for over 30 years. Every once in a while he would let his opinions on such topics be known. Once, during a period of conflict between the U.S. and a country in the Middle East, the sign outside Dad's business simply read "bomb 'em." He may have lacked subtlety, but at least you knew where he stood.

Are you familiar with any places that have entertaining marquee messages out front? Where are they?
