You know it's on your bucket list. Right after skydiving, but just ahead of going 2.7 seconds on bull named Fumanchu. Taking a nice stroll through a gigantic colon. It's classic Bucket List fodder. Well, now's your time to mark it off the list. And while I may be having a bit of fun, it's for an issue more people should take seriously.

On Thursday, April 19th, in conjunction with Douglass Community Services, the Hannibal Parks & Recreation department is hosting a Senior Expo at the Admiral Cootz Recreation Center from 10am-1pm. One of the big displays will be a gigantic, 20 foot inflatable colon you walk through, and learn more about colon cancer, the second leading cancer among adults.

About four and a half years ago, I lost my father to a 16 month battle with colon cancer. After his initial diagnosis, I chatted with his doctor, who set me up to have a colonoscopy. I was, and still am, on the young side to really be worrying about that, but the doc said it wouldn't hurt, considering my dad's diagnosis. I'm good, by the way. I know you were wondering.

The Senior Expo is free to attend, with gifts for the first 300 attendees, and prizes throughout the day. For more information on the Senior Expo, visit the Facebook event page.
