It isn't truly spring in Quincy until Dogwood Weekend. And now just over a week out, (May 3-5) we have our FULL schedule. If you are planning on attending any of the festivities, here's what you need to know.

The Dogwood festivities begin Thursday night May 3, with the Little King and Queen of Dogwood Pageant. The pageant will take place at the Quincy Mall center court. Registration forms need to be in no later than May 1. Later that night, the Quincy Community Theatre presents, “Is He Dead?”, a new comedy by Mark Twain adapted by David Ives.

On Friday (May 4th) from noon to 1:15 pm, there will be a Concert in the Plaza (next to First Mid-Illinois Bank Plaza and St. Boniface Church). At 6:00 that evening, Dogwood Weekend officially kicks off at St. James Lutheran Church.

Saturday is when the fun really begins. Everything starts with the Quincy Farmers Market from 7:00 a.m. to noon in Washington Park. The Dogwood Parade starts at 9:20 am. The theme for this year's Blessing Health System/GatesAir Dogwood Parade is “#TeamQuincy.”

There are several events throughout the afternoon including the Quincy Preserves Spring House Tour & Garden Party and acoustic concerts inside Washington Theater (donations are appreciated). Donations will benefit the restoration of the theater.

Sunday is filled with events as well including the Young Lives Little Ladies Tea at the Oakley Lindsay Center. For a full list of scheduled events for the Dogwood Festival click on the Quincy Chamber of Commerce website.
