SETI (Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence) recently announced that a radio signal detected by their satellites that originated from a star system 95 light years away show signs of possibly being from a Kardashev Type I, or maybe even a Type II, civilization. That's significantly more advanced than humanity on Earth, we haven't even hit full Type I status yet. While results hold nothing conclusive, they say it does warrant more study.

If you'd like to help them run scans of radio signals picked up from the far reaches of space, you can help them with the SETI@home program. It's a software that runs in the background on your computer, and uses the computer's downtime to run analysis on radio signals. It's lightweight, and you won't even know it's there. Who knows? You may help find aliens. Find out more about SETI@home here!
