The Hannibal Police Department has announced that two residents of the city face charges of Distribution of a Controlled Substance.

According to a press release from HPD, 31-year-old Annalicia E. Woodson and 38-year-old Nicole D. Griffith Fernando were arrested on August 31 as a result of investigations by the Hannibal Police Department's Anti-Crime Enforcement Squad.

Police say Woodson is accused of distributing crack cocaine, and Fernando is accused of distributing heroin. Both suspects were taken to the Marion County Jail.

On August 31, 2015 warrants were issued by the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County charging 31 year old Annalicia E Woodson and 38 year old Nicole D. Griffith Fernando, both of Hannibal, with distribution of a controlled substance. The warrants are a result of investigations by the Hannibal Police Departments Anti-Crime Enforcement Squad (ACES). Both Woodson and Fernando were arrested on August 31st after separate investigations into Woodson distributing Crack Cocaine and Fernando distributing Heroin. Both suspects remain in the Marion County Jail.
A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
