We may be two days from autumn, but summer isn't done with us yet. With temperatures expected to hit the mid-90s with up to an 80% humidity, it's going to be a hot muggy day out there. As the Hannibal High School and Hannibal Middle school don't have air conditioning, Hannibal Public Schools Superintendent Susan Johnson announced early dismissal  for the two schools due to excessive heat.

Hannibal High School students will be released at 11:30 Wednesday morning, with Hannibal Middle School students released at 11:55am. There will be no afternoon classes at the Early Childhood Center or at the Hannibal Career and Technical Center. The elementary schools will still be in session all day, as they are equipped with air conditioning.

As a reminder, excessive heat conditions can result in heat stroke, even in children, and this is done for their safety.
