The Quincy Fire Department, Firefighters Local 63 and the Adams County EMT and Paramedic Association are again hosting the 21st annual Camp Callahan Charity Golf Tournament. I don't know how familiar you are with Camp Callahan. Every summer, they provide a camp for mentally and physically challenged youth and adults from the local area.

Events like the Firefighters 63  Country Concert every March, and the golf tournament help fund the Camp.

Camp Callahan is a real memory maker, both for those who attend, and for those who assist with the Camp.  It also serves as a "vacation" of sorts, for the caregivers as well. Children and adults alike, who attend Camp in the summer, look forward to this special time all year long.

Camp Callahan is another reminder why we should again look to our Firefighters and EMS (as well as all  first responders) as  "Real Heroes."

This years golf event is on Saturday, May 19th at Arrowhead in Camp Point.  If you're interested in participating, call 217-228-4459.
