A great occasional perk of the local B&B movie theatre is they'll have retro nights, throwback nights, or classic re-releases so I can see films on the big screen that I've only ever been able to experience at home on my TV.

Sure these are films I know and love and have seen a million times already, probably, but there's something about seeing them on the a movie screen that can't be replicated in the home experience. So I really dug their recently announced March Retro Night line-up. All three films show at 4pm and 7pm. Visit their website for more info and ticketing info.

March 6th - Back to the Future

Back to the Future is hands down one of my all-time favorite films, and as evidenced by last year's poll, your favorite film of 1985 (#SorryNotSorryGoonies). But I have never seen it in a theatre. I really should fix that tonight.

March 13 - Iron Giant

It's no surprise The Iron Giant became an enduring animated favorite for many people of my generation, as it's directed by Brad Bird in his feature debut. He'd be a guiding force at Pixar in the 2000s, directing two of their best in The Incredibles and Ratatouille.

March 27 - Scott Pilgrim vs The World

In between the second and third entries in his unofficial Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World's End), Edgar Wright dropped the tragically little seen but wildly loved by those who did Scott Pilgrim vs The World. It's based on a smaller comic property, boasts a fantastic cast, and with it's heavy use of classic video game imagery, is regarded as the best video game movie (despite not being based on a video game). If you missed this one back in 2010, I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend it.
