The Hannibal Jaycees are hard at work on the finishing touches for the 60th annual National Tom Sawyer Days. The festival officially begins on July 2, but armband night at the carnival will take place on July 1. Miller Spectacular Shows is providing the carnival for the second year at National Tom Sawyer Days. According to the Hannibal Jaycees, the crowd favorites from last year will be returning, and some new rides will be appearing at this year's carnival. Chris Powell with the Hannibal Jaycees gave us a sneak peek.

Carnival hours will be 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday night (armband night). Armbands will be $17. The carnival will open at noon Thursday and Friday, and at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Tanyard Gardens entertainment for this year includes Madd Hoss Jackson and special guests Blacktop South on Thursday at 7 p.m., and Jon Pardi with Natalie Stovall and the Drive at 7 p.m. on Friday.

The full schedule for National Tom Sawyer Days activities, including the parade, mud volleyball, arts and crafts, and the naming of the new Tom and Becky ambassadors, can be found online. You can also download the official Tom Sawyer Days booklet.
