Rapidly rising waters on the Mississippi have left several areas in and around Hannibal flooded. All of the city's flood gates were put in place on June 30, and water has continued to rise. Popular attractions like the Mark Twain Riverboat and Sawyer's Creek have been forced to close because of the flood, and Highway 79 is closed just past the Mark Twain Cave. In Hannibal, the Mississippi is expected to crest at 26.7 feet early Wednesday afternoon.
