It's going to be a busy weekend in Quincy/Hannibal. The Tin Dusters are coming to town, Octoberfest is going on at Flinn Stadium, and one of my favorite festivals of the year is back in Hannibal: The Hannibal Folklife Festival. If you're still on the fence as to whether you should go to the Folklife Festival, here are five last minute reasons to convince you:

    Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

There is nothing better on a cool fall day then eating a cup of homemade chicken noodles, and the Folklife Festival has one of the best places to do so. The noodles are homemade and the soup is served nice and hot. It's a must have. I promise, you have never tasted chicken noodles like you will at the Folklife Festival.

    Live Music

There is a full lineup of local artists performing throughout the weekend including Seth Wade, Zeke Cernea, Gabe Meyer, Esther Moore, Murray McFarlane and Rachel Crowley.

    Vendors Galore

There will be plenty of craft vendors up and down the streets; everything from handmade traditional arts and fine crafts to paintings and toys. Make sure to stop at as many as you can and maybe pick up a few things as well.

    Delicious Food & Drinks

I'm partial to the chicken noodle soup (did I mention that already?) but bring your appetite because there will be plenty of goodies to try. There will be kettle corn, bread pudding, catfish sandwiches, root beer, cider, craft beer, and plenty more to choose from.

    It's Free

This is a family event that everyone will enjoy and you won't find a more cost-friendly option. There is no charge to attend the festival, so come and enjoy what looks to be a fantastic weekend.
