It's the summertime, which means there are a lot of fun things to do, concerts to see, and events to attend. Through Friday, June 12 we have a chance for you to sign up and win the Thousand Dollar Ticket Takedown, which has a grand prize of a $1,000 Ticketmaster gift card! What would you do if you won the card? Here are five things you might want to consider.

  • Country Megaticket

The 2015 Country Megaticket is bringing some of country music's hottest acts to the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in St. Louis. Lady Antebellum and Rascal Flatts have already performed as part of this year's Megaticket. Upcoming concerts include Dierks Bentley, Darius Rucker, Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley and Florida Georgia Line. Those are just the headliners. Each of those acts will also be bringing along some very solid opening acts. The Country Megaticket is THE summertime concert series for country fans in our region. A $1,000 gift card is more than enough to pick up a couple tickets to each of the remaining shows.

  • State Fairs

As always, the state fairs will be featuring top entertainment on their grandstands. Among the entertainers at the upcoming Illinois State Fair will be Rascal Flatts and Brantley Gilbert, the Missouri State Fair has Gary Allan and Alabama, and the Iowa State Fair will have Reba McEntire and Carrie Underwood. Tickets are now available for some of these shows, and others will go on sale soon. You can purchase grandstand tickets for all three of the state fairs on Ticketmaster.

  • Major League Baseball

Whether you're a Cardinal fan, a Cub fan, or one of those fans that recently discovered the Kansas City Royals, there's nothing like attending a Major League Baseball game. Our region also has some of the best ballparks in the Majors. Busch Stadium in St. Louis and Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City are both terrific, and Wrigley Field is historic. And let's not forget the White Sox, a team from Chicago that has actually won the World Series in the last hundred years. Of course, the very best games to see are when these teams play each other.

  • Family Entertainment

There are always fun things to take your kids to, and as every parent knows, it can get expensive really fast! Every kid wants to bring a friend, and just the cost of tickets for everyone can add up in a hurry. But with a $1,000 gift card, you'll have plenty of money to get tickets for everyone. You might even tell your kids to bring two friends. Disney on Ice and Ringling Bros. a Barnum & Bailey Circus will both be in St. Louis in the fall. Marvel Universe LIVE will be coming to the Scottrade Center in January.

  • All of the Above

Seriously, a thousand dollars is a lot. In all likelihood you wouldn't necessarily want to see every single Megaticket show, or go to each state fair concert, or live at the ballpark. With $1,000, you should easily be able to do everything on this list that you're interested in, and maybe even a few things we haven't even thought of.
