We've been actively publishing all sorts of things on our blog over the past few years. Everything from local news to great contests, and from stories that are touching to stories that are ... a little more amusing. Here are five items we've reported on that kept us entertained.

  • Men Working on Top of the Arch

How do you do an inspection on top of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis? Find some really brave guys! This was incredible to watch as it happened. Fox 2 in St. Louis was broadcasting a live feed of these inspectors from their helicopter.

  • Cory McCloskey's Forecast is Just a Tad Warm

Former WGEM weatherman Cory McCloskey had some fun on the air earlier in the year when the weather graphics were ... a bit off. McCloskey is now doing weather at Fox 10 in Phoenix, Arizona.

  • One of the World's Silliest Inventions

Do you know what this thing is? It's a handy gadget that serves exactly one, and only one, purpose. Admittedly, it can be a handy thing to have around, but it's kind of silly.

  • Funny YouTube Videos From Around the Tri-States

One day we thought it would be fun to get on YouTube and start searching local town names, just to see what we could find. Of course the Dancing Man came up, a guy in LaGrange "skating" down an ice covered road in his tennis shoes, the "Nutroll Nazi" of Quincy, and some pretty cool slow motion lightning. Check out Funny YouTube Videos from Around the Tri-States to see them all!

  • Three Horror Movies With Ties to Quincy, Hannibal and Edina

A couple summers ago, we found out about a zombie movie that included footage shot in Edina. It turns out that Edina isn't the only local city to have ties to independent horror movies. There was a vampire movie shot in Quincy, and a slasher film shot in Hannibal. Neat to find out. See Three Horror Movies With Ties to Quincy, Hannibal and Edina to see the trailers for all three of these movies.
