What a week for Eric Church! Not only is he celebrating the success of ‘Springsteen’ – his single sitting at No. 1 for a second consecutive week — but now he has reason to tip another cold one back after hearing the news that his album, ‘Chief,’ has gone platinum.

Sales of ‘Chief’ have officially surpassed the one million marker, making the album Church’s best-selling record to date. His previous two albums – ’Sinners Like Me’ and ‘Carolina’ – both reached gold certification.

‘Chief’ hit shelves a year ago next month and has produced three hit singles, including ‘Homeboy,’ the chart-topping ‘Drink in My Hand,’ and of course, ‘Springsteen.’ The week after its release, the album made impressive debuts on the charts, coming in at No. 1 on both the Billboard Top 200 and the country albums compilations.

While there’s no word yet what the next will be, we imagine that the singer can’t go wrong with anything he chooses. And that’s exactly how Church likes it. He recently told us that being in the studio is his least favorite part of the job, and that he anticipates going deep into the album for new singles.

Stay tuned to Taste of Country for your first listen of the next release from this singer-songwriter, and congrats, “chief,” on all your success!
