Forecasters say the week ahead will be warmer with a lingering chance of rain in northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

National Weather Service forecasters say the work week starts with sunshine, with highs from the upper 60s to around 70 Monday and Tuesday.

The chance of rain arrives Wednesday and continues through Friday night, with the best chance of showers and thunderstorms Thursday and Thursday night. Highs will peak in the mid 70s Wednesday, before dropping to the upper 60s Thursday and the low 50s on Good Friday.

Predictions are for Easter weekend to be sunny, with highs around 60 Saturday and Sunday.
