One of my favorite things to do with my girls in lay outside when it's dark and look for shooting stars. We've only seen a few, but man I wish we would've been out on Monday night!

If you happened to be outside Monday evening, you might have caught a glimpse of something few of us will ever see in our lifetimes: a fireball!

Right around 8:40 pm, a fireball soared across the Missouri sky and there’s even video evidence (at about the 20 second mark is where you can see the fireball)…

The American Meteor Society received more than 300 reports (most of which from Missouri) of the fireball which looked like it stretched from Kansas City all the way to St. Louis. Reports also came in from Iowa, Kansas, Illinois, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Nebraska, Indiana, and Wisconsin.

An observer by the name of “Mary M” claims to have seen the sight from Quincy along with her husband. Other reports came in from Mendon and Palmyra as well.
