Conspiracy charges against a Quincy man charged in connection with the murder of a 12-year-old boy have been dropped.

Adams County State’s Attorney Jon Barnard Wednesday dismissed conspiracy to commit obstruction of justice charges against 24-year-old Stefan Crider III.
Crider III had pleaded not guilty to the charges and was scheduled to go on trial Monday. Barnard said he would refile the charges once the murder trial of Crider’s half-brother, 20-year-old Steson Crider, is concluded.

Barnard had earlier dismissed conspiracy charges against Crider III’s parents, 41-year-old Stefan, Jr. and 39-year-old Julia Crider.

Stefan Crider III had been accused of helping his half-brother leave the area and get rid of a gun, following the shooting death of 12-year-old Ray Humphrey, Jr. last March.
