But all your pre-planning may have to go in the trash, especially if you stocked up on John Morrell & Co. hot dogs, specifically Nathan's and Curtis Beefmaster Brands. The USDA issued a Class II recall notice for hot dogs manufactured in January, for containing little metal shards.

What you're looking for are, according to the recall notice which you can read in full here: "14 oz “Nathan’s Skinless 8 Beef Franks,” with a Use By date of Aug. 19, 2017, and the 16 oz “Curtis Beef Master Beef Franks,” with a Use By date of June 15, 2017. The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 296” on the side of the package. These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide."
