Water has receded from U.S. 54 on the Illinois side of the Mississippi River at the Champ Clark Bridge, and IDOT and MoDOT crews opened the road to traffic just a few minutes ago.  The bridge was closed last week due to flooding from the Mississippi River.

MO 79 south of Hannibal opened earlier this afternoon after being closed also from Mississippi River flooding.

All road conditions and road work can be viewed online at www.modot.org and clicking on the Traveler Information Map.  People with cell phones can sign up to receive text alerts for emergency road conditions such as road closures due to flooding and other inclement weather.  Sign up at the same website under the "Travelers" tab.
