One aspect that makes the CMA Awards so special is nostalgia, and that's neatly packed into a brief teaser advertising the 2018 show.

Revealed via Instagram by the Country Music Association, the video spot shows longtime hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley wandering through a soundstage, marveling at the memories of CMAs past projected on screens around them.

"There's nothing more thrilling than hosting country music's biggest night," Paisley says in voiceover.

"And being a part of these amazing moments," Underwood follows, admiring a video of herself winning the 2006 CMA for Female Vocalist of the Year, through tears proclaiming: "this is the best night of my life."

As the hosts meander through the CMA Awards timeline, they spot a mustachioed Ricky Skaggs thanking the CMAs for his award, along with clips of Lauren Alaina, Kane Brown and Dan + Shay representing the genre's rising stars "whose journeys are just beginning," Underwood relays.

Maren Morris' tearful acceptance speech for New Artist of the Year in 2016 also gets a nod, with performance clips of Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks, Charley Pride and more also being showcased.

The 2018 nominees were unveiled in August, with Chris Stapleton as the most nominated artist. This year marks Underwood and Paisley's 11th consecutive year as hosts since taking over at the helm in 2008.

"The trick is to try and keep everything fresh. To try and figure out just what we're gonna talk about, and how to keep everything rolling. We want to be funny, and we want to be timely, and we want to be respectful, and we want to just make it a great show," the "Cry Pretty" singer explains to Taste of Country about the process. "There's a lot of love that's put into hosting the CMAs, and I hope people feel that above all else."

The 2018 CMA Awards will take over Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday (Nov. 14), airing live on ABC at 8PM ET.
