Carly Pearce takes on Dan + Shay's “Tequila" in a new video, and it's smoother than whiskey.

Pearce's cover is part of the Grand Ole Opry's "Radio Replay" series. The burgeoning star sings the first verse and chorus, bringing a dose of soul to the hit song: "But when I taste tequila / Baby I still see ya / Cutting up the floor in a sorority T-shirt / The same one you wore when we were / Sky high in Colorado, your lips pressed against the bottle," she croons pristinely, giving the song a refreshed vibe.

Pearce's choice of song is a nod to her tourmates on Rascal Flatts' Back to Us Tour. In her words, it's "one of my favorite songs on the radio right now."

"Tequila" has become one of Dan + Shay's most popular songs, earning more than 150 million streams while reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. It's also been certified gold by the RIAA. Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney made history when they became the first duo or group in 10 years to sit on top of both the Billboard Top Country Albums and Country Airplay charts at the same time with Dan + Shay and "Tequila," respectively.

Pearce has experienced many career highs herself, including scoring her first No. 1 single with the compelling "Every Little Thing" that also gave her the CMT Award for Breakthrough Video of the Year in 2018. Following opening stints with Blake Shelton and Brett Young, she continues on the road with Rascal Flatts through the summer while simultaneously balancing an opening gig on Luke Bryan's massive What Makes You Country XL Tour.
