Right as I get off the air on Friday and pack up my headphones, I will be parking myself in front of my computer, eagerly anticipating the purchase of single game tickets to America's past-time... the great game of baseball. Both the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs open up single game tickets for purchase on Friday morning, February 23th, at 10am CST.

The Cubs had already long ago announced the tickets would go on sale this weekend, but news just broke from St. Louis that we'll be able to get individual game tickets starting at 10am on Friday morning. For Cubs tickets, you can hit their website. For Cardinals tickets, you can go to theirs.

For what it's worth, my beloved Los Angeles Dodgers have had theirs on sale for some time. This does, however, seem to be the regional trend to put tickets on sale this weekend. The Kansas City Royals individual game tickets are also already available to purchase, as are tickets for the Minnesota Twins and the Milwaukee Brewers. The Chicago White Sox waiting until Friday, March 2nd.

Now why might I, a Dodger fan, be so concerned about getting tickets right when they go on sale? Well, last year the only time the Dodgers were in Chicago is for the Cubs home opener. And I don't know if you know this, but they kinda won the World Series the year prior. Those tickets were nigh impossible to get. And I was in a different part of the country when they were down in St. Louis.

Fortunately they're up in Chicago in mid-June, before the All-Star Break, with a weekday series, so they might be easier to get. Otherwise I'd have to wait all the way until September to get tickets for their series in St. Louis. All things being equal, I'd rather catch go sooner rather than later.
