Each Friday at 9:30am, KICK-FM will feature an artist on the rise during the Breakthrough Artist of the Week, brought to you by Glass One Quincy!

Kalie Shorr started her country career much in the same way Dwight Yoakam did. Far away from Nashville, and opening for punk-bands. But where Dwight was out west in punk's early 80s hey-day, Shorr was up in Maine during the pop-punk resurgence of the 2000s. And it paid off. There's a fierce confidence to her songwriting and music, and a tenacity that took her to Nashville with regular performing gigs and a spotlight on SiriusXM, a path that has proved fortuitous for Cole Swindell, Florida Georgia Line and Sam Hunt. For more info on Kalie Shorr, check out her website. You can get her music through her web-store, and on iTunes and Amazon.
