I remember when I bought my first cowgirl boots. Having hailed from New York to Missouri at a young age, I FINALLY felt like a real Midwesterner thanks to those boots. And I guess everything is subject to changes and improvements over time, but I was really intrigued when I saw this latest cowgirl boot trend. Apparently, as so many weird things tend to do, they're taking the fashion industry by storm. Feast your eyes on "boot sandals".

Redneck Boot Sandals
loading...

Yeah, that’s right. Boot sandals. Cowgirl boots on top and sandals on the bottom. Whomever thought this was a good idea had some weird sense of fashion. And these things aren't cheap either (even though you're, you know, NOT buying an entire boot). You can get a nice pair of boot sandals from Redneck Boot Sandals starting at $150. They come in various colors and styles. And apparently, this is catching on.

So where did the idea of boot sandals come from? According to the website:

“One sunny afternoon, Scotty Franklin, owner and CEO, was lounging on white sand beaches of Gulf Shores Alabama and saw a guy walking down the beach in cowboy boots. Scotty thought the poor fellow shouldn't have to sacrifice cowboy fashion in order to stay cool on this hot day and looked down at his own feet and saw his flip flops and wondered if he could cut out his boots and make them into flip flops for the ultimate combination.“

And the rest is history. Listen, I love me some sandals and I love me some boots. But this is pushing the fashion envelope (for me anyway). I haven't seen anyone in our region wearing them...yet. When you are out and about this summer at fairs or concerts, keep your eyes open and you might see someone rocking a pair. And if you would like your very own pair of sandal boots, you can buy as many as you want on the Redneck Boot Sandals website. And yes, they come in styles for girls AND guys.

So would you wear these things? Let us know!
