The second annual Big River Steampunk Festival opens its three-day run in downtown Hannibal Saturday.

The celebration of the Gilded Age officially begins with a parade and opening ceremonies at 10 a.m.

Saturday’s highlights include entertainment on the Main Street Stage, vendors holding forth in the Great Midway at Kiwanis Park, along with a variety of activities, ranging from hot air balloon rides to a croquet tournament in the Exposition Circle at Nipper Park.

Also on the Saturday calendar are appearances by Queen Victoria and Molly Brown, a Vaudeville review, a concert featuring singer and cellist known as Unwoman, along with something called the Neo-Vintage Good Time Dance Soiree.

The Big River Steampunk Festival continues through Monday.
