A benefit will be held on Saturday, March 30 for 13-year-old Madison Baker of Hull, IL. Madison, who goes by the nickname Mad Dog, was recently diagnosed with scoliosis. Her upcoming surgery will keep her from playing the sports she loves, volleyball and soft ball, for a least a year. Proceeds will go to help her family pay for medical bills and expenses.

The event will be held at the Hull Community Center from 1 to 10 p.m. The center is located at 215 South Elm Street in Hull. Admission is $10 per person, however, kids 12 and under will get in free. Coolers are permitted.

Activities will include a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction and a washer tournament. Food and music will also be provided.

Entry fee for the washer tournament is $20 per team and includes admission. Registration begins at noon and cash prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

"Team Mad Dog" t-shirts are available is sizes small through extra large for $10. Sizes over extra large are $12. Wristbands are also available for $2 each.

Madison is the daughter of Mike and Andrea Baker of Hull.
