Avenue Beat stopped by the KICK-FM studio to give us an update on the group's exciting new projects, including the release of a new EP, doing some co-writing with established Nashville songwriters, and even opening for country acts like the Swon Brothers and Billy Currington!

The just-released EP from Avenue Beat is called EP No. 1. It contains six all-new, original songs, and it will be available at their upcoming shows. The group also says that anyone interested in a CD can also contact them through their Facebook page to make arrangements to purchase a copy.

Avenue Beat is made up of Savana Santos, Sam Backoff and Sami Beardon, all from Quincy. They recently won the Nashville Universe Rising Star Award, and have been making fairly frequent trips to Music City to write and record.

The group will be appearing at venues throughout the area and the region during the summer months. Avenue Beat is on the ticket for the May 30 Music With a Mission concert at the Adams County Fairgrounds. They'll also open for the Swon Brothers on July 3 in Lisle, Illinois, and they will open for Billy Currington in Valparaiso, Indiana on July 23.
