Michael, please. Not Mike. I was born and raised in Chicago. Even though I have not lived in the “Big City” since 1992, I still consider myself a Chicagoan (Go Bears!). Other than listening to music, I love to cook. Most weekends you can find me in my kitchen creating something. Nothing fancy, just something out of the ordinary. If you check out my blogs I will occasionally post a recipe I have created. Of course, I had to wire speakers in to my kitchen so I can have music playing while I create. Preferably some Jazz selections – Stanley Turrentine, Charlie Haden, Vince Guaraldi, and the like. When I am not cooking, you can either find me curled up on the couch watching a movie (Blues Brothers, Mr. Holland’s Opus, Goodfellas, Casino), or in my car just driving around.

I had an opportunity early this morning to view the Perseid Meteor Shower.

Recently my girlfriend and I took a drive through rural Illinois. We had nothing better to do, and it was a beautiful evening, so we decided to see the sights.
Police Shooting In Ferguson: How Does Looting And Arson Help The Victim’s Family?

"Would you like your receipt?"

Craig Morgan At Adams County Fair
Craig Morgan appeared at the Adams County Fair on Saturday July 26. Despite the rain earlier in the day, and the amount of mud on the track, the concert was enjoyed by many.
Here is a photo gallery from the concert:

Remember Your First Car?
I actually have two first cars. The actual first car was a 1966 Chrysler Newport I picked up for $75 in 1983. The person I bought it from (without a battery) delivered it to me at the Kentucky Fried Chicken I worked at. I was supposed to buy a battery for it, but I never had enough money to get one...
Circus Coming To Town? Not Really
I am not a fan of the circus. If you've seen one elephant jump through a flaming hoop held by iguanas...you've seen them all.
If I want to see animals, I know plenty of farmers that can show me what they've got.
