Michael, please. Not Mike. I was born and raised in Chicago. Even though I have not lived in the “Big City” since 1992, I still consider myself a Chicagoan (Go Bears!). Other than listening to music, I love to cook. Most weekends you can find me in my kitchen creating something. Nothing fancy, just something out of the ordinary. If you check out my blogs I will occasionally post a recipe I have created. Of course, I had to wire speakers in to my kitchen so I can have music playing while I create. Preferably some Jazz selections – Stanley Turrentine, Charlie Haden, Vince Guaraldi, and the like. When I am not cooking, you can either find me curled up on the couch watching a movie (Blues Brothers, Mr. Holland’s Opus, Goodfellas, Casino), or in my car just driving around.

We’ll Miss You, Dennis!
Quincy/Hannibal is losing a radio icon in Dennis Oliver who announced his retirement earlier this week. I wanted to take a minute to say thanks and share some of my favorite Dennis memories.

Tanyard Gardens 2016 – Who Is Coming To Hannibal This Year?
The Hannibal Jaycees' National Tom Sawyer Days is July 1 - 4. I always have a great time in Hannibal that weekend. I don't necessarily ride the rides. I'm usually eating, drinking, and enjoying the music - live music at Tanyard Gardens.
How Will You Celebrate National Pi(e) Day?
Pi Day is March 14 (3/14 - get it?). The mathematical constant 'Pi' has been around for years, but the pomp and circumstance of Pi Day has only recently evolved into a celebration for the masses.
Maurice White – How Earth, Wind & Fire Influenced My Radio Career
There have been several deaths in the music world of late. The one hitting home is the recent death of Earth, Wind & Fire founder Maurice White.

Illinois License Plate Renewal – No More Mailed Notices
Everywhere I have lived, I would receive a notice in the mail reminding me that my license plate sticker is about to expire. It's not like your drivers license, where the expiration date is typically your birthday. So getting these friendly reminders in the mail is a good thing.
