Michael, please. Not Mike. I was born and raised in Chicago. Even though I have not lived in the “Big City” since 1992, I still consider myself a Chicagoan (Go Bears!). Other than listening to music, I love to cook. Most weekends you can find me in my kitchen creating something. Nothing fancy, just something out of the ordinary. If you check out my blogs I will occasionally post a recipe I have created. Of course, I had to wire speakers in to my kitchen so I can have music playing while I create. Preferably some Jazz selections – Stanley Turrentine, Charlie Haden, Vince Guaraldi, and the like. When I am not cooking, you can either find me curled up on the couch watching a movie (Blues Brothers, Mr. Holland’s Opus, Goodfellas, Casino), or in my car just driving around.

I got the call this morning - "I'm sick". It happens, and I am glad to be able to fill in.
Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon – I Think It’s A Winner
I remember staying up late to watch Johnny Carson when I was a young child. There was an art to staying up late:
How Are “We” Doing? Is There A Mouse In Your Pocket?
Ever go to a restaurant, or any place in public, and have someone ask "How are WE doing"?
Napkin Shortage? You Might Think So
I have noticed that restaurants are not anticipating the mess that people create when they eat their food.
What Are You Doing For Valentine’s Day?
Have you made plans for Valentine's Day? I have:
Obscure Movie Reference
Sometimes someone will make an obscure movie reference. Everyone in the room gets it, but I don't. Now I feel out of the loop. Did I miss something (well, obviously I did, since everyone else in the room got it).
Celebrity Look-alikes – Don’t I Know You From Somewhere?
Don't you hate when you run into someone and you think "I know this person?" What makes it worse is when the other person thinks they know you too.
This scenario presented itself on a recent trip I took to Evansville, IN.
New Years Resolutions – Have You Failed Yet?
I have stopped setting New Years Resolutions. There have been too many occasions where I have the best intentions, only to fall flat on my face.

Are You Going To Eat That?
It has been tradition in my house growing up that for good luck you eat Herring on New Years Eve. Well, this year I missed getting Herring on New Years Eve, but I decided to get some anyway.
