At 11:33 p.m. Friday night, Officers of the Hannibal Police Department were dispatched to the 800 block of Mark Twain Ave, for an attempted robbery.

According to witnesses, a white male approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a black hooded jacket, blue jeans and with his face covered, entered the business and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect made statements that he had a weapon, but none was displayed. The clerk did not give the suspect any money after several demands and the suspect fled the store on foot. Officers canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the suspect. No one was injured during this incident.

A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

*Press release from the Hannibal Police Department
