The Adams County Sheriff's Office has received numerous complaints in regards to a company called KIPA. Apparently KIPA is using an automated calling system with an area code of 786 to call homes all day and night.

Those answering the calls are asked to press #2. The intent of the calls has not been determined. Therefore, the Sheriff's Office is recommending that people hang up and not follow the prompts requested as it may lead to large charges to your phone bill.

Most of the complaints are being received by the Sheriff's Office from customers of Adams Telephone. If you have not done so and would like to place your number on the "do not call' list, dial 1-888-382-1222.
