3 Things National Tom Sawyer Days has in common with The Hunger Games
Have you seen The Hunger Games yet and/or read the book? If so, have you noticed the things the story has in common with our own National Tom Sawyer Days?
- Katniss and Peeta (C'mon...if Tom and Becky were trying to attack each other in the woods, they could be in Hunger Games 2)
- Haymitch Abernathy is the mentor of Katniss and Peeta and is not known for being sober in the book. (Hello? Huck Finn?)
- Panem has a wealthy capitol and 12 not-wealthy poorer districts. (Follow me on this one. Imagine if Panem were the Jaycees and the 12 not-wealthy districts were local marching bands...and the losing district was required to march behind the mules/horses in the 4th of July Parade)
